Low-carb, high-protein diets, while beneficial for muscle maintenance, can alter urinary chemistry and raise the risk of kidney stones and bone density loss.

To counteract the effects of modern acidic diets, increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables and ensuring adequate vitamin D and magnesium can help restore pH balance, support bone health, and mitigate chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease and muscle loss.

Furthermore, an alkaline diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-acid beverages, may improve bone and muscle health, reduce chronic disease risks, and enhance overall metabolic balance. This approach could also benefit the activation of vitamin D and the effectiveness of certain chemotherapies by increasing intracellular magnesium and improving growth hormone function.

Maintaining a balance between protein intake and the consumption of alkaline foods is crucial for preventing bone density loss and supporting general health.
