Introducing Our New & Improved Functional Health Report (FHR)

Discover 4 exciting updates that make it easier than ever to understand and act on your patients’ health data.

Introduction

At Optimal DX, we strive to continually enhance our tools to help you better understand and support your patients’ health journey. Today, we’re thrilled to unveil four major improvements to our core Functional Health Report (FHR). Each change is designed to make the analytics more user-friendly, actionable, and visually engaging.

Below, you’ll find a quick overview of what’s new, along with before-and-after screenshots so you can see exactly how these updates will look. I’ve also recorded a short video walkthrough to guide you through each enhancement in more detail.

1. Revamped “Out of Optimal” Report

What’s changing?

  • We’ve moved the Out of Optimal Report to the top of the Analytics section, putting key data front and center.
  • This report now displays biomarkers above or below the optimal range by category, accompanied by the same graphic you see on the Blood Test Results page.
  • Each out-of-range biomarker includes a concise explanation of what it means for the patient.

After the Change:

Why it matters:

By highlighting out-of-optimal biomarkers immediately, practitioners can quickly identify potential health concerns and guide patients through actionable next steps.

2. New Introductory Text for Each Section of the Blood Test Results Report

What’s changing?

  • We’ve added short introductory paragraphs to each major section of the Blood Test Results report.
  • These intros provide context for the patient. What they're about to see, why it’s important, and how to interpret the data.

Why it matters:

A quick blurb that sets the stage for each section helps practitioners—and patients—understand the significance of the data they’re viewing, leading to more informed conversations about health optimization.

3. Updated Assessments: Rationale, Biomarkers, & Non-Run Biomarkers

What’s changing?

  • Previously, our “rationale,” “biomarkers considered,” and “biomarkers not run” were spread across three separate rows. Now, we’ve consolidated them.
  • Underneath the explanatory text of each assessment above 50%, you’ll find the biomarkers that went into the algorithmic assessment and any biomarkers that weren’t run.

After Change

Why it matters:

Having a cleaner, consolidated view of which biomarkers were actually used to generate each assessment (and why) placed underneath the explanatory text makes the report more streamlined and clear—no more hunting across columns for key details about which biomarkers were causing a score to be elevated.

4. Re-Designed “What to Look For” Practitioner Report

What’s changing?

  • We’ve redesigned the “What to Look For” section so that each biomarker in the report has a consistent, scannable layout,
  • We've also added color-coding to the biomarker result, so you can quickly see if it's out of optimal or standard range simply by observing its color.
  • It’s more text-friendly, so you can quickly identify pertinent information and spot patterns across biomarkers.

Why it matters:

A more uniform design makes it easier to read and scan, speeding up your workflow and ensuring you don’t miss critical insights.
