Acidic urine may indicate an acid-base imbalance and metabolic acidosis, which can contribute to kidney stones and affect detoxification.
To alkalize urine, increase intake of vegetables, fruits, lemon or lime juice, and alkaline water while decreasing intake of meat, non-dairy animal protein, excess sodium, and sugar.
Potassium citrate supplementation can also help maintain an optimal urine pH of 6.5-7.
