Dysbiosis, Dysfunction, and Disease

  • The human microbiome faces numerous challenges throughout life, including injuries, pathogen aggression, pollution, hormonal variations, genetic predisposition, unbalanced nutrition, and diseases, leading to microbial reconfiguration and various illnesses.
  • Disruption of the microbiome's balance, known as dysbiosis, can result in diseases such as cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, acne, gastric ulcers, obesity, and hypertension, as well as contributing to pulmonary disorders, digestive complications, and neurological abnormalities.
  • Rebiosis, the restoration of the native microbiota, is an effective remedy for dysbiosis, utilizing therapeutic tools like probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics to rectify the imbalance.
  • Probiotics, such as Lactobacillus spp, replenish and rejuvenate the microbiome, while prebiotics, like fructose oligosaccharides (FOS), promote the growth of select microbes. Synbiotics combine both probiotics and prebiotics to effectively remedy dysbiosis.
