Allergies are Not Alright

Written by ODX Admin | Jul 22, 2024 6:18:37 PM

Allergic diseases are triggered by an immune system overreaction to typically harmless substances, causing discomfort in the skin, airways, and mucous membranes.

These reactions include the production of immunoglobulin E (IgE) and the release of histamine from cells like mast cells and eosinophils, leading to symptoms like sneezing and watery eyes.

Various allergens such as pollen, food, and pet dander can initiate these responses. Diet and nutrition play crucial roles in managing or exacerbating allergies, with different nutrients influencing immune responses and gut microbiota, which are integral to overall immune health.
